ServiceNow manages hosting, availability, performance, L1 support, and L2 support as part of the license cost. A customer is responsible only for their unique configurations, integrations, and ongoing changes.

Most of the work in ServiceNow Managed Services is limited to user operations and ongoing enhancements. The other area is platform health and patch management to keep up with security patches and upgrades from ServiceNow. Mature ServiceNow customers also have dedicated teams for instance governance, data governance, and managing tasks like instance health and instance security.
